Keeneland Sales Graduates Compete for Breeders’ Cup Berths on Saturday

Keeneland sales graduates seek berths in the Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Keeneland this fall with wins in “Win and You’re In” stakes this weekend at Del Mar and Saratoga.

Higher Power defends his title in the TVG Pacific Classic (G1) at Del Mar, a Challenge event for the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1). Also featured in the field is Midcourt, a multiple graded stakes winner who was runner-up in the San Diego (G2) in his last start.

United and Combatant compete in the Del Mar Handicap (G2), a “Win and You’re In” race for the Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1). United has won three consecutive Grade 2 races this season, including the recent Eddie Read at Del Mar. Combatant won the Santa Anita Handicap (G1) in March.

At Saratoga, Got Stormy seeks to secure a spot in the FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Mile Presented by PDJF (G1) with a repeat win in the Fourstardave (G1).

In other Grade 1 racing, Laura’s Light, winner of the San Clemente (G2) and Honeymoon (G3) this year, headlines the field for the Del Mar Oaks (G1) on Saturday. On Sunday, 2019 Canadian Horse of the Year Starship Jubilee tries for her fourth consecutive graded stakes victory in the Diana (G1) at Saratoga.
