Keeneland Sales Well Represented on Louisiana Derby Day at Fair Grounds

Keeneland sales graduates are among the leading graded stakes contenders on Louisiana Derby Day at Fair Grounds on Saturday. 

September Sale graduate Midnight Bourbon, winner of the Lecomte (G3) and third in the Risen Star (G2) Presented by Lamarque Ford, is a standout in the $1 million Louisiana Derby (G2), a prep on the Road to the Kentucky Derby (G1).

Grade 1 winner Roadster returns from a layoff to highlight the New Orleans Classic (G2). Roadster is one of five September Sale alumni competing in the stakes, which also features multiple Grade 3 winner Owendale. 

Eight of the 12 older horses going postward in the Muniz Memorial Classic (G2) were sold at the September Sale, led by Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational (G1) winner Colonel Liam; Grade 2 winner Cross Border, third in the Pegasus World Cup Turf; and graded stakes winners Factor This and Peace Achieved.  

Li’l Tootsie, a winner in her last two starts, both at Fair Grounds, seeks points on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks (G1) in the TwinSpires.com Fair Grounds Oaks (G2).
