Mare in Foal to Into Mischief Sells for $335,000 at January Sale

Zia, a stakes-placed daughter of Munnings in foal to Into Mischief, sold for $335,000 to Nicoma Bloodstock, agent, less than three hours after the start of Monday’s opening session of the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale.

Ballysax Bloodstock, agent, consigned Zia, who is out of the Sadler’s Wells mare Faux Pas (IRE) and from the family of English champion Negligent (IRE), Grade 2 winner Selflessly and Grade 3 winner River Seven.

A yearling colt by Quality Road out of Grade 2 winner Foxysox (G2) sold for $310,000 to First Finds on Monday afternoon during the opening session of the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale.

Denali Stud, agent, consigned the colt, who is a half-brother to stakes winner Curlin’s Fox and from the family of Group 3 winner Jester.

Stakes winner Moonlit Garden, a daughter of Malibu Moon, cataloged as a racing or broodmare prospect, sold for $335,000 to D. J. Stable during Monday’s opening session of the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale.

Vinery Sales, agent, consigned Moonlit Garden, a 6-year-old half-sister to Grade 3 winner Title Contender. She is out of the Grade 3-winning Roy mare Winter Garden.

A yearling colt from the first crop of Horse of the Year Gun Runner sold to de Meric Stables, agent, for $290,000 to top early results of Monday’s opening session of the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale. Denali Stud, agent, consigned the colt, who is the first foal out of the stakes-placed Any Given Saturday mare Sunday Sonnet. He is from the family of Irish champion miler Price of Birds and Grade 3 winner Pianist.

The Quality Road yearling colt Quick Trigger sold for $300,000 to OXO Equine during Monday’s opening session of the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale.

Select Sales, agent, consigned Quick Trigger, whose dam is the stakes-placed First Samurai mare Onna Bugeisha. He is from the family of Group 3 winner Tazeez.
