Keeneland Sales Graduate Gunmetal Gray Earns September Sale Seller Bonus with Sham Victory

January 7, 2019

Keeneland September Yearling Sale graduate Gunmetal Gray earned a $5,000 September Sale Seller Bonus for Lee Pokoik’s Lion Farm with his win in the Sham (G3) at Santa Anita on Saturday. For the victory, the colt was awarded 10 points on the 2019 Road to the Kentucky Derby (G1).

The September Sale Seller Bonus Program, initiated by Keeneland in 2017, offers cash rewards to sellers (owners at the time of sale) of horses sold at the September Sale that win Grade/Group 1, 2 or 3 stakes as a 2- or 3-year-old. Sellers receive cash rewards for yearlings sold at the September Sale based on the following criteria: $10,000 Seller Bonus value for your first Grade/Group 1 stakes win; $7,500 for your first Grade/Group 2 win; and $5,000 for your first Grade/Group 3 victory.

September Sale alumnus Bellafina dominated the Santa Ynez (G2) at Santa Anita on Sunday to earn 10 points on the 2019 Road to the Kentucky Oaks (G1).

Next Shares, sold as a racing prospect at the 2017 November Breeding Stock Sale, won the San Gabriel (G2) at Santa Anita and will be pointed to the $7 million Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational (G1).
