Keeneland September Sale Alumni Unique Bella, Mozu Ascot Win G1s in US, Japan

June 4, 2018

Champion Unique Bella and Mozu Ascot, both alumni of Keeneland’s 2015 September Yearling Sale, accounted for Grade/Group 1 wins in the U.S. and Japan, respectively, this weekend.

Unique Bella turned in a powerful performance to defeat several of the nation’s top older fillies and mares in the Beholder (G1) on Saturday at Santa Anita. With her victory, the reigning champion female sprinter pushed her earnings total to more than $1 million.

Mozu Ascot earned a berth in the Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) at Churchill Downs in November with his gritty win in the Yasuda Kinen (G1) at Tokyo on Sunday. Mozu Ascot is a 4-year-old son of Frankel (GB).
