Keeneland-Sold Champions Good Magic, Unique Bella Earn Breeders’ Cup Berths with Grade 1 Wins

Keeneland September Yearling Sale graduates and reigning champions Good Magic and Unique Bella secured spots in the 2018 Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Churchill Downs with Grade 1 wins this weekend.

Good Magic established himself atop the active 3-year-old division with his 3-length victory in the $1 million betfair.com Haskell Invitational (G1) at Monmouth. With the win, he earned a position in the starting gate for the $6 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) on Nov. 3.

Unique Bella was a front-running winner of the Clement L. Hirsch (G1) at Del Mar, a “Win & You’re In” race for the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1), also on Nov. 3. 

Keeneland sales alumni also were successful in England and France on Saturday. Thundering Blue took the Sky Bet York (G2) at York and Homerique won the Prix de Psyche (G3) at Deauville.
