45 Keeneland Sales Graduates Featured in Preakness Weekend Graded Stakes

Forty-five Keeneland sale graduates take center stage in graded stakes competition on Friday and Saturday, highlighted by morning-line favorite Epicenter and second choice Early Voting in Saturday’s $1.5 million Preakness (G1) at Pimlico. 

Eleven of the past 15 Preakness winners are graduates of Keeneland sales: the filly Swiss Skydiver(2020), War of Will (2019), undefeated Triple Crown winner Justify (2018), Cloud Computing(2017), Exaggerator (2016), Oxbow (2013), Kentucky Derby winner I’ll Have Another (2012), Shackleford (2011), Lookin At Lucky (2010), Big Brown (2008) and Curlin (2007).

Among the talented 3-year-old fillies entered in today’s George E. Mitchell Black-Eyed Susan (G2) at Pimlico are Interstatedaydream, third in the Central Bank Ashland (G1); Radio Days, second in the Beaumont (G3) Presented by Keeneland Select, and Distinctlypossible, second in the Darley Alcibiades (G1), all at Keeneland. 

Also today, stakes-placed Vindictive and Untreated are the first and second choices in the Pimlico Special (G3). The field also includes Panamanian Group 1 winner Capocostello, recently second in the Ghostzapper (G3) at Gulfstream.
