By Matt Shifman and Bob Ehalt

Hot List Key:
 A:
A preferred horse to watch                         B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worse
* - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

1st race [NY, Md 40000, 7F] – (2) Fast N Fearious comes back from a near miss in his debut last month at Aqueduct when he set the pace as the heavy favorite. (6) Sensibleconclusion drops out of three maiden special weights where he was part of the early pace. (5) Connected has yet to run on a fast track with two wet tracks going a mile and a pair of turf starts before that. He showed significant improvement last time out three weeks ago. (1) Lord Brownie has a pair of thirds and seconds in his last four races making him a contender. He will cut back from a mile.

3rd race [NY Stallion Series, 6 ½ F] – (5) Bank On Anna (C) was well bet last race when she stepped up from her maiden victory to win a first-level allowance last month. (1) Yo Cuz won her last three starts, all in NY-bred stakes races at a mile and seven furlongs. (2) Kisses for Emily broke her maiden in an open company stakes race at Parx in March when she rallied from last in a five-horse field from which the second-place finisher came back to win and is also in this field. (6) Starship Laoban has been racing at Parx and makes her first start against NY-breds. She is the filly referenced above.

7th race [NY, Alw 72000, 6F] – (3) Who Hoo Thats Me returns from a December layoff when he was overmatched in the Remsen (G2) against a strong field of Kentucky Derby hopefuls. Before that he was stakes-placed against NY-breds. He gets first-time Lasix and cuts back in distance. (2) Bourbon’s Hope returned from a six-month layoff to finish second in an allowance at the Big A and will also get Lasix. (1) Hot Rod Rumble broke his maiden in his second start following a layoff with the best speed figure of his career. (7) Jumpster moved from a N2L claiming win to run third in a state-bred allowance.

9th race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (12) Barrel of Quests (B) will return to the turf where he made his career debut. Just two weeks ago he set the pace on a sloppy Aqueduct track and finished second. (4) Excursionniste (D) has been off since February and moves back to the turf which seems to be his preferred surface. In that last start he was bet down to be the 2-1 favorite. (1) Mr. Connecticut returns from a November layoff as a new gelding with three career starts for the Clement barn. (10) Highgate Road was third in his debut at Tampa last month with a late rally following a slow start.

Best bets:  Fast N Fearious (1st); Who Hoo Thats Me (7th). Best value:  Bank On Anna (3rd); Barrel of Quests (9th).
