By Matt Shifman and Bob Ehalt

Hot List Key:
 A:
A preferred horse to watch                         B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worse
* - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

2nd race [Clm 14000 N3L, 1 mi] – (4) Mebs Web (B) made her first start in this condition when she broke poorly and had to race wide on a sloppy, foggy, day. (1A) Micromillion and (1) Blitchton Lady make an entry from Mertkan Kantarmaci where both halves fit well in this spot. (3) Gringotts made her first start in the N3L level for $25,000 and now drops down a notch. (5) Lottie’s Mizzion was claimed two starts back following a layoff by Charlie Baker and should be ready for a peak performance now.

4th race [Clm 35000 N3L, 1 mi] – Another strong Kantarmaci entry of (1) Indian Counselor and (1A) Social Group with both of these claimed out of victories last time. (3) Latin Love Bug ran in the Peeping Tom last time at Aqueduct and returns to restricted company here. (6) Tapizearance was also claimed from his last start when he had the lead, was involved in some bumping, and then finished second. (5) Not That Brady has several races earlier in the year at the Big A that make him competitive in this spot.

6th race [Md Sp Wt, 1 mi] – (1) Continuation has two speed figures, in his debut and his most recent start, that are better than any other horse in the field has run and gets blinkers on here. (2) Cousin Andrew returns from a June layoff for Chad Brown following three second-place finishes in her first three races. (3) Or’effice was a $725,000 yearling who has some good back races and is now back to New York from Florida for Shug McGaughey. (5) Royal Realm got bumped and steadied in his debut for Jimmy Jerkens back in February at the Big A, gets blinkers on and first-time Lasix.

7th race [OC 62k/N2X, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (1A) Good Governance for Chad Brown and (1) Price Talk for Jorge Abreu make a strong Klaravich Stables turf entry. (2) Winters Back has never run a bad race for Todd Pletcher and drops out of a fourth-place finish in a Grade 3 where he had the lead. (5) Bodecream is a stakes winner and graded stakes placed for excellent grass trainer Mike Maker. (8) Emaraaty returned from a year+ layoff for Chad Brown and overcame traffic problems to finish third, beaten by less than a length in a Gulfstream Park allowance. Let’s see if he can put two good races together after that time away from the races.

Best bets:  Kantarmaci entry (4th); Klaravich entry (7th). Best value:  Mebs Web (2nd); Continuation (6th).
