Today’s New York Hot List races to watch – Friday, February 12, 2021 at Aqueduct

2^nd race – (8) Remoane ran second in two of her last three starts at this NY-bred $25,000 maiden claiming level and should be able to get that first win in this field for Tom Morley. Preference goes to the horses with less tries. (7) Grape Theory has three place finishes at this level and she makes her second start off the claim for Mertkan Kantarmaci. (6) Menzamenz has had a lot of tries against this kind on both turf and dirt and was third last time out behind the top choice. (2) Crick also has had a lot of tries with five seconds and a third.

4^th race – 5) Make Or Break (C) was third in her last race for a $40,000 tag where she was bet from 5-1 to 3-1. She makes a winning drop in class. (3) Holmdel Park (C) was second last time in a N2L claimer where she was bet down from 9-2 to 5-2 and now steps up to a $25,000 level. (1) Choose Happiness (D) was claimed out of a fourth-place finish by Gary Sciacca when her odds dropped from 5-1 to 7-2. (6) Mia Bea Star makes her second start following a claim by Linda Rice. She was second after having the lead when Rice moved her up to a $40,000 level from $16,000 and now they drop down in this spot looking for the win.

5^th race – (2) Stormi Cat Lady will get first-time Lasix and drop into a maiden claimer after racing three times against NY-breds in maiden special weights where she ran third two races back. (3) Enter Sandwoman ran fourth last time in $40,000 state-bred claimer like this spot when she got Lasix and blinkers for the first time. (5) Super Belle will face NY-breds after three starts at Monmouth Park last year including a third in her only start on the dirt. She gets a trainer change and these connections had a long shot victory last week at the Big A. (4) Quite Type will make that drop into the maiden claiming ranks for trainer Jimmy Jerkens even with a big improvement in her last start.

8^th race – (6) Paint Music for Me dropped down to a maiden claimer for $20,000 and finished second in his first start on the main track at Aqueduct going nine furlongs in December and now comes back going a mile. (5) Loaded Joe set the pace and had the lead last time out in a race like this and ended up in second. (8) Lorenzen exits a pair of third-place finishes for a barn and a rider that have heated up in the past week. (2) Orphan Hallie was claimed for $20,000 two races back for Mike Maker who moved him up to $40,000 but now drops back down the price of the claim.

Best bets:  Remoane (2^nd); Paint Music for Me (8^th). Best value:  Make Or Break (4^th); Stormi Cat Lady (5^th).
