1st race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 1 mi TURF] – (8) Saratoga Gaze had the lead in the stretch in her career debut for Christophe Clement last month at Belmont Park while sprinting. Clement has good numbers stretching out on the grass. (1) Out of Sight improved dramatically since changing to the barn of David Donk two races back with better speed figures and a pair of top three finishes. (6) Caumsett set the pace and almost got that elusive maiden win when she got caught at the wire. (3) Duckphat has a pair of thirds since returning from a layoff.

2nd race [Clm 25000 N2L, 6F] – (6) Mo Mischief will make his first appearance in the N2L condition after a bad experience on the turf last time in a starter allowance. (3) Litterbox has three competitive finishes in a row with speed figures that fit well in this field. (4) Forest Spirit returns from an August layoff after being claimed at Saratoga from a race like today’s. He has past races that can win against this field. (5) Great Workout will drop out of NY-bred allowances to run at this level for the first time.

6th race [Md Sp Wt, 6F TURF] – (3) Always Connected set the pace and missed by a neck in her debut for George Weaver who is better with his young horses in their second start. (2) Vaccine of Hope was second in his first career race for Wesley Ward at Saratoga behind a winner that came back to finish first again. (6) Nay Say also debuted in that same race for Ward and finished third and was bet a bit more than his stablemate. (11) Gem Mine will make the first start of his career for Clement.

7th race [Alw 50000s, 6F] – (5) Twelth Man returned from a long layoff to run quite well for Michelle Nevin to finish second. (2) Charlie Five O won a restricted claimer last time following two starts on the grass. This is a much better dirt horse and was claimed by Rob Atras who is a 29% winner with his new horses. (8) Repo Rocks tried the grass last time, ran poorly, and gets back to where he had lots of success. (1) One Whirlwind Ride set the pace and got caught nearing the finish of a similar spot last time.

Best bets:  Saratoga Gaze (1st); Twelth Man (7th). Best value:  Mo Mischief (2nd); Always Connected (6th).
