Today’s NY Hot List races to watch – Friday, November 11, 2022 at Aqueduct
By Matt Shifman and Bob Ehalt

Hot List Key:
 A:
A preferred horse to watch                         B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worse
* - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

2nd race [Md Sp Wt, 6 ½ F] – (1) Happy Bob (B) has been off since August and his second start when he was badly bothered by heavy kickback in a fifth-pace finish. (4) Matt Doyle moved back to the dirt in his second start after a layoff, ran third, and now gets blinkers on as a new gelding. (2) Opportunity Set will make his debut for Chad Brown and Klaravich Stables. The son of Classic Empire sold for $225,000 as a yearling. (3) Magical Ways is a My Racehorse microshare partnership making his first start for Bill Mott after selling for $400,000 as a 2-year-old at Ocala.

3rd race [NY, OC45k/N2X, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (5) Catch That Party (C) is in fine form right now after a pair of wins and then a third at this level when he was bet down to be the 2-1 favorite from 5-1. (8) Graded On a Curve has a very strong career record including two wins from two starts on the Aqueduct turf. He will move back to NY-bred competition with the $45,000 claiming option. (4) Grape Nuts Warrior came back from a four month layoff and finished second after having the lead in the stretch. (2) Straw Into Gold was also second in one of these races last time and now has three place finishes this year at this level.

4th race [NY, Md 40000, 1 mi] – (2) Salty Heir (B) comes back from almost a year off after having a troubled trip when last seen. Blinkers come off and this new gelding will race for a new trainer with Lasix for the first time. (7) Bert Bert Bert missed the win by a head in his first try in a maiden claimer as he moved from turf to dirt. (5) Steerage ran his best race in his fourth start which was meant for the grass but was run on the fast, main track at Aqueduct when he was second the entire race. (6) Cicciobello makes his debut for Derek Ryan who does well when he races in New York.

9th race [Clm 16000 N2L, 7F] – (4) He’s Got It (D) was bet down from 5-1 to be the 3-1 favorite but had to steady when he lacked room. (8) Inspiration Point was third and then second in his two races at this level. The second was behind a horse that came back to win again. (9) Vancouver d’Oro changes to the barn of Jose Camejo who has gaudy stats with horses new to his barn. Blinkers come off for the fifth trainer that this horse has had in nine starts. (7) Slow Decision broke his maiden for $40,000 at Saratoga and then tried a $40,000 N2L condition. This drop down is appropriate.

Best bets:  Happy Bob (2nd); Catch That Party (3rd). Best value:  Salty Heir (4th); He’s Got It (9th).

No.
