Today’s NY Hot List races to watch – Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Aqueduct
By Matt Shifman and Bob Ehalt

Hot List Key:
 A:
A preferred horse to watch                                 B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worst
* - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

1st race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 6F] – (6) Lifetime of Chance (B) was third in his debut for Linda Rice behind a pair of good horses. Her horses usually take a big step forward in their second starts. (5) Looms Boldly (C) was bet down from 17-1 to 12-1, got to the lead, and finished second behind a Bill Mott winner. (2) Bustino Santino is a first-timer for Bruce Levine who has been dangerous with new horses this year. This one is a home-bred for Roddy Valente. (3) Whiskey and Wine had the fastest workout out of 110 horses in his final breeze for this first start for Shug McGaughey.

2nd race [Clm 25000, 1 1/8 mi] – (2) Pioneer Spirit won his second start following a layoff with an improved speed figure while racing on the lead going the nine-furlong distance. The 9-year-old has a great record at Aqueduct. (5) Bold Victory gets class relief after several starts in starter allowances with some top three finishes. He broke his maiden for a $40,000 tag in the Spring at Belmont Park. (6) Convertible Freeze was a winner last time using up his last restricted claiming condition in a N3L race. (1) It’s Mandatory has found a lot of success racing at Finger Lakes where he has three of his career victories, although he has run well at other tracks around the country.

3rd race [OC 62K/N2X, 6F] – (6) Stage Left (B) got stuck on the rail at BAQ Aqueduct last time on a time when the inside was dead. He still got to the lead but was passed by a few closers on the outside. (5) Senbei (B) dropped down from a series of stakes races including a win in the Gold Fever at Belmont in May. In that allowance he got pelted with heavy kickback and was climbing as he tried to avoid the dirt in the face. To start his career, he had four victories against NY-breds with three of those in stakes. (4) Amundson was claimed for $40,000 from a race that he won with a front-end effort. He is the winner of 3 out of 5 starts at the Big A. (3) Nova Rags comes back from a July layoff for Bill Mott. We remember him from the 2021 Kentucky Derby trail where he won the Pasco at Tampa Bay and was second in the Sam F. Davis (G3) and the Peter Pan (G3) at Belmont.

4th race [Clm 25000 N2L, 6F] – (6) Eminency (B) was claimed last month for $25,000 and now comes back as a new gelding with the blinkers off for Jose Camejo. (1) Win for Gold (B) was also taken from his last start but for $40,000 after setting the pace. (3) Moonshiningbright broke his maiden for a $40,000 tag with an effort that makes him a contender in this field. (7) Waralo will make his third start coming back from an August layoff when he broke his maiden at Finger Lakes.

Best bets: Lifetime of Chance (1st); Eminency (4th). Best value: Pioneer Spirit (2nd); Stage Left (3rd).

Saturday Pick 3 Special --
