Today’s NY Hot List races to watch – Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Aqueduct
By Matt Shifman and Bob Ehalt

Hot List Key:
 A:
A preferred horse to watch                                 B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worst
* - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

2nd race [NY, Md 40000, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (2) Rally Squirrel (B) has been off since running fourth in his debut back in April for Tom Morley and now gets Lasix for the first time. (10) Ghostmom was second in a similar spot last month for Rudy Rodriguez. (6) Seanan got off slowly in his initial start for Christophe Clement and made up ground after running wide. (4) Bless Bless was entered to make his first start on the grass but had to run on a sloppy track and now gets blinkers on for Michelle Nevin.

3rd race [Clm 25000 N3L, 6F] – (2) Quantitativbreezin was an eight-length winner in the N2L condition two races back and then tried allowance company after getting claimed for $25,000. (6) Baba was also the winner of her N2L spot two races back and that came after getting claimed from three straight races. (7) Rosey’s Peach has been competing in $35,000 claimers recently and was claimed two races ago also. So, she gets a bit of class relief here. (1) Bastet has a good record at Aqueduct and was claimed for $14,000 in her most recent race where she stumbled badly at the start. Trainer Eddie Barker has a 31% winning stat with his newly claimed horses.

6th race [Md Sp Wt, 6F TURF] – (7) Empire Ridge (B) finished second in his debut at odds of 6-1 last month despite behaving greenly before the race and then down the stretch. Experience gained should help him now. (8) Snow Candy gets back on the grass for start number three after facing two strong fields. He was entered for the turf in his second race but it was run on the main track which he did not like. (5) Pipito flashed speed and had the lead in his first race on the turf and George Weaver cuts him back to sprinting. (1) Chanceux finished fourth in his debut for Todd Pletcher on the main track at Belmont Park and Irad Ortiz stays on board.

9th race [Artie Schiller, 1 mi TURF] – (1) Flavius won the Lure at Saratoga in a front running effort that was one of the best of his career for Chad Brown. At Kentucky Downs, he was fifth after racing wide on a grass course that had been frequently favoring the inside. (6) Tell Your Daddy was entered in the Breeders’ Cup Mile but did not get in the main body of the field so did not travel to Del Mar. He is in the best form of his career with a three triple digit Beyer Speed Figures and a win in the Bernard Baruch (G2) at Saratoga. (4) March to the Arch ships down from Woodbine where the Mark Casse runner faced stakes company in four starts this year. He was fourth in the Woodbine Mile (G1) after getting steadied during his stretch run. (2) Olympic Runner is another one of those Casse Woodbine turf horses that heads south since the Toronto track has closed. He third in the Nearctic (G2) sprinting and moves back to the mile distance where he won the King Edward (G2) in August.

Best bets:  Rally Squirrel (2nd); Quantitativbreezin (3rd). Best value:  Empire Ridge (6th); Flavius (9th).
