1st race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 7F] – (3) Bourbon Chase had the lead in his debut for Todd Pletcher and finished second as the odds-on favorite. (4) Drake’s Passage goes from turf to dirt for his second start and cuts back to sprinting. (2) Uncle Marty moved back to the main track and ran second beaten by only a head at Saratoga and then had to check when fourth against a good field. (7) Wanna Winna made his first start in an excellent field and was sixth at 7-1. Blinkers go on now.

2nd race [Clm 25000, 1 mi] – (1) Vallarand (C) was second after a three month layoff behind the winner who came back to win a $32,000 open claimer. He was bet down from 9-2 to be the 2-1 favorite for Rob Atras. (5) Trade Secret gets some class relief after three starts this year against better fields in tougher conditions. (7) Funwhileitlasted ran in the race with the top choice in his first start since moving from turf to dirt. He has a past open length win on the main track at Laurel Park. (3) Tactical Range was third behind Vallarand last time.

4th race [Clm 40000 N2L, 1 mi] – (4) Hang Tight (B) got off to slow start, was last, and rallied for second for the third time in a row while getting claimed for the second consecutive race. (3) Major Spin was third in a starter allowance and drops back to the N2L condition from which he was claimed. (8) Fromanothamutha improved with a second and a better speed figure in his second start following a layoff. Last year he ran in the Remsen (G2), Gotham (G3), and Bay Shore (G3). (5) Mo Rewards was a debut winner as a 2-year-old at Saratoga on the dirt and then moved to turf racing in allowance company.

8th race [Artie Schiller, 1 mi TURF] – (10) Dynadrive (B) was last early in the Knickerbocker (G3) and then tried to rally on the outside when the inside was the place to be. He won the Lure at Saratoga for Tom Morley. (9) Somelikeithotbrown has 10 wins and over $1.6 million in earnings. He won the Mint Million (G3) at Kentucky Downs and is projected to be on the lead in here. (8) Decorated Invader has two starts this year after a long layoff including an allowance at Woodbine for the Clement barn. (3) Big Everest is the winner of 3 out of his last 4 starts, all since June after a long winter break.

Best bets:  Bourbon Chase (1st); Vallarand (2nd). Best value:  Hang Tight (4th); Dynadrive (8th).
