Aqueduct Hotlist - November 27

November 25, 2020

Today’s New York Hot List races to watch – Friday, November 27, 2020 at Aqueduct
By Matt Shifman and Bob Ehalt

Hot List Key:
 A:
A preferred horse to watch                           B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worse
* - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

1st race – (3) Our Man Mike drops down from two second-place finishes in NY-bred stakes races to run in this state-bred maiden special weight. Speed figures and class favor this Horacio DePaz runner. (7) Dante’s Map made a marked improvement in his second start for Rudy Rodriguez. (5) Reunion Tour had a troubled start in his debut at odds of 9-2 when he got bumped and squeezed back. Jonathan Thomas second-time starters win at a 35% clip. (6) A Longlongtimeago will debut for West Point Thoroughbreds and Jorge Abreu has been winning at 28% with his firsters.

3rd race – (1) Movie Score (C) took a lot of late money dropping her odds from 14-1 to 9-1 in a $10,000 open claimer in which she ran third. Here, she is in for $12,500 where there is always movement up and down in claiming levels. (7) Daria’s Angel was claimed out of her last two races for $25,000 and will now debut for the Noda Brothers at half that price back in October. Still, the win purse and the claiming price would turn a profit. Her last race was bad, but she has a great record at Aqueduct of 10: 5-3-1. (8) Factoring exits a series of turf races and drops from a pair of starter allowances. She has a win on the dirt at Aqueduct for trainer Michelle Nevin who owns this one herself. (9) Nana’s Shoes ships up from Delaware Park where she was claimed out of a victory for $8,000 and fits well at the mile distance.

7th race – (4) Pete’s Play Call has three recent races at this second-level allowance condition where he ran first and second with high speed figures. He can stay at this level by using the $62,500 claiming option. (1) Clench has two wins in a row – a $25,000 open claimer followed by a first level allowance. He will keep moving up the ladder with speed figures that are competitive with the top choice. He is part of a Michael Dubb/Rob Atras entry. (3) Onemoregreattime exits two stakes races at Laurel for trainer Jeremiah O’Dwyer who has had past success shipping up to Aqueduct. (6) Secret Rules was last seen running second in the Jimmy Winkfield at Aqueduct in February for Bill Mott. He flashed a lot of talent early this year as a 3-year-old.

8th race – (1) Miss Marissa will go for her fourth victory in a row and her second graded stakes win in the Comely (G3) going a mile and an eighth following a win in the Black-Eyed Susan (G2). (5) Thankful broke her maiden at Saratoga going nine furlongs for Todd Pletcher and then came back to win an allowance at Belmont Park over Mrs. Danvers. (6) Mrs. Danvers looks for her first stakes him for Shug McGaughey as a filly that has been a bit inconsistent but has hit the board in six of seven career starts. (3) Ice Princess has a two for two record at Aqueduct including a NY-bred stakes race for Danny Gargan.

Best bets:  Our Man Mike (1st); Pete’s Play Call (7th). Best value:  Movie Score (3rd); Miss Marissa (8th).
