Hot List Key:
 A:
A preferred horse to watch                         B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worse
* - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

3rd race [Clm 12500, 6F] – (8) Flashing Red has been racing in good form on the turf but broke her maiden on the dirt, now moves back to the main track, and makes a big drop in class. (5) Amos gets a trainer change, moves from turf back to dirt, blinkers come off, and her claiming price drops in half. She has two past wins at Aqueduct. (3) Bustin Bay was claimed two races back at this level, tried the turf last time in an allowance, and now drops back down. (6) Gentle Annie was also claimed two races back and was raised up where she lost her footing at the start.

4th race [NY, Alw 72000 N1X, 1 mi] – (5) Scotto (C) was bet down from 6-1 to 3-1 in a similar spot to this one and finished third after breaking from the far outside in a field of ten. The added distance from seven furlongs won’t hurt him. (1) Water’s Edge ran first or second in all four starts including a second to the talented Americanrevolution. He returns from a brief freshening. (4) Emperor’s Cause shipped up from Florida, had the lead, and finished second in his first try against NY-breds. (3) Bustin the Rules is in good form right now moving back and forth from Finger Lakes and the NYRA tracks for Charlie Baker.

5th race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (9) Dreampoint (A) steadied at the start of his last start in July at Saratoga and had to race wide into a slow pace. That field had the top three come back to win their next starts. (11) Mr. Connecticut missed the top spot by just a neck in his second career start for Christophe Clement. (1) Action Jackson debuted last year against NY-breds and finished third but came back and was overmatched twice in open company races. Blinkers go on now. (12) Umbria was second or third in his last four starts and moves back to the grass.

7th race [Autumn Days, 6F TURF] – (3) Too Sexy won her last two starts in an allowance and then a victory in a similar stakes race at Belmont Park by more than three lengths. (1) Change of Control will drop down from a series of graded stakes where she won two of them. (4) Piedi Bianchi won her last two starts in stakes, the most recent was on the dirt going long but before that she won a turf sprint at Saratoga. (2) Love and Thunder tried a Grade 3 last time after a strong allowance win for Chad Brown.

Best bets:  Flashing Red (3rd); Too Sexy (7th). Best value:  Scotto (4th); Dreampoint (5th).
