A preferred horse to watch                         B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worse

2nd race [NY, Alw 85000 N1X, 6F TURF] – (4) Frank’s Art (A) was rank on the backstretch last time at Saratoga and rallied for third matching a high speed figure for this field of horses. (6) Athenry found a couple of strong fields in his last two starts following an open company score in a starter allowance. (5) War Terminator changes barns to Rob Atras and gets back on the grass after hating a sloppy track earlier in the month. (1) Mister Chairman was the favorite in all three of his starts for the Clement barn and moves back to state-bred competition where he broke his maiden at the Spa.

3rd race [NY, Hudson, 6 ½ F] – (1) Fast N Fearious (B) lost all chance at the break last time when he was bumped hard and got pinched back to last. He has not run against NY-breds since April when he broke his maiden at Aqueduct. (2) Wudda U Think Now has a fantastic record at Aqueduct of 8: 5-2-0. He won the John Morrissey at Saratoga while pressing the pace. (7) Bankit cannot be ignored with his $1 million in earnings. He will cutback in distance from a pair of mile efforts upstate after a trip to Meydan in the spring. (6) My Boy Tate has seven wins at Aqueduct. He is an eight-year-old now but on his best is just as good any horse in the field.

5th race [NY, Mohawk, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (2) Cold Hard Cash (A) was keen early and had to steady forcing him to race wide and rallied for a close third against some of these horses. (6) Sanctuary City (C) was second ahead of the top choice last time after getting bet down from 6-1 to 4-1. (1) City Man won that aforementioned race last time after returning to NY-bred competition from a pair of excellent performances in Grade 3 races at Saratoga. (5) Jerry the Nipper has lots of speed which may put him on the lead early.

10th race [NY, Sleepy Hollow, 1 mi] – (6) Shadow Dragon (A) was a rare debut winner for Bill Mott with a late run in a sprint at this meeting last month. (7) Jackson Heights was the winner of a NY-bred stake last time as a maiden going seven furlongs. (1) Artic Arrogance won his first start at Saratoga and then ran second behind the second choice. (2) Canarsie was a first-time winner for Todd Pletcher beating a horse that came back to win impressively yesterday.

Best bets:  Frank’s Art (2nd); Cold Hard Cash (5th). Best value:  Fast N Fearious (3rd); Shadow Dragon (10th).
