Today’s New York Hot List races to watch – Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Belmont Park
By Matt Shifman and Bob Ehalt

Hot List Key:
 A:
A preferred horse to watch                         B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worse
* - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

2nd race [Md 40000, 1 mi TURF] – (11) Alpha Babe (C) ran the best race of her career while finishing third in her first start for hot trainer Rob Atras after getting bet down from 8-1 to 5-1. (5) Gabby Squared will make the drop from maiden special weight efforts for Chad Brown, she was only a $45,000 purchase so this move to a $40,000 tag makes sense. (7) Sweet Mission had a slow start and had to steady in her debut for Todd Pletcher at Gulfstream Park in April going the mile distance. (2) Wicked Happy is a consistent type with many top three finishes on both grass and dirt.

4th race [Clm 16000 N2L, 6F] – (9) Frosted Indian broke his maiden for a $40,000 tag two races back and then tried a turf starter allowance going long. This N2L spot is ideal. (7) Have a Heart got roughed up at the break last start at the $20,000 level. (4) Scotty cuts back in distance to sprinting after racing longer around one-turn. (6) Our American Star has a bunch of top three finishes at this level and no doubt will be a very long price. Use him underneath.

7th race [Alw 40000s, 6 ½ F] – (8) Barista Vixen was claimed out victories in his last two races and has now landed in the barn of Danny Gargan. His last three races were a second in a $50,000 starter allowance and then a N2L win followed by a N3L score. (7) Cadeau de Paix was claimed from a win in an open $20,000 claimer and then ran second in a starter allowance. (5) Master of Hope won a maiden special weight in his debut, tried an allowance, and then came back in his first race of the year to win a N2L race and got claimed by the Noda Brothers. (4) Honey Money won a $16,000 N2L claimer by more than four lengths and got claimed by Wayne Potts.

9th race [Md 40000, 7F TURF] – (2) Centurion (C) ran the best race of his career when he stretched out in distance and finished third while taking late money from 11-1 to 7-1. (9) Elston has been away since last summer when he debuted in a maiden special weight. John Terranova brings him back with Lasix as a new gelding. (6) Caribbean Gold set the pace and finished third in his 2021 debut for Mike Maker and stays in for a tag. (10) Not Stormy gets blinkers on for trainer Tom Bush who is dangerous with horses at good odds.

Best bets:  Frosted Indian (4th); Barista Vixen (7th). Best value: Alpha Babe (2nd); Centurion (9th).
