By Matt Shifman and Bob Ehalt

Hot List Key:
 A:
A preferred horse to watch                         B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worse
* - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

3rd race [Md Sp Wt, 1 ¼ mi TURF] – (1) Summer Silence had his best run in one of these long-distance turf races in May at Belmont Park. Draw a line through his last race on a sloppy track. (6) High Deff was second at Churchill Downs in his first start for Chad Brown and gets blinkers on now. (5) Galawi will make his American debut for Graham Motion after racing at Chantilly in France last year with a second and a third. It will be first-time Lasix for him. (4) Cambi Lion will return from an April layoff for Shug McGaughey. The extra distance should suit him well.

4th race [NY, Clm 25000, 6F] – (4) Ninth Hour (C) is the winner of his last two races for Chris Englehart whose barn has been doing quite well this Spring. He won last time against open company in a $20,000 claimer where he was bet down from 7-1 to 7-2. He is the winner of 8 races in 19 starts. (5) My Roxy Girl was also a winner in an open $20,000 claiming race at Belmont last time out. (6) Money in the Bank also comes to this spot with two consecutive victories for Englehart - two back it was for a $35,000 tag at Aqueduct and then an allowance at Finger Lakes. (2) Writer’s Regret will move back to NY-bred competition.

5th race [OC 100k/C, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (6) Miss Teheran missed the top spot by a head in a similar spot last time out at Belmont. There is early speed in this field to set things up for her closing move. (4) Beautiful Lover drops back to allowance company after many starts in stakes races. She won that allowance at Aqueduct. (5) Traipsing was also a winner the last time she ran in an allowance for Christophe Clement. (7) No Mo Lady made her first of the year in a similar spot and is graded stakes placed last year.

7th race [Alw 92000 N1X, 6F] – (2) Tale of the Union now officially runs for John Terranova. Previously listed as a Bob Baffert runner, he has been racing in NY-bred races which means he has been housed in Terranova’s barn. This will be his 2021 debut. (4) Tuggle will make his first start of the year after last being seen at Oaklawn Park in 2020 with two narrow loses in allowance races for Jeremiah Englehart. (6) Wow Brown won his 2021 debut in a top-level allowance for NY-breds but still has allowance conditions against open company. (3) Mr Phil won 2 out of his last 3 races with the most recent being a front-end victory in a starter allowance.

Best bets:  Ninth Hour (4th); Tale of the Union (7th). Best value: Summer Silence (3rd); Miss Teheran (5th).
