Hot List Key:
 A:
A preferred horse to watch                         B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worse
* - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

1st race [Clm 14000 N3L, 6 ½ F] – (2) Awesome Indra was claimed last time out at Oaklawn Park by Saffie Joseph Jr. for $20,000 when she ran second. Horses from Oaklawn have been running well in their first starts at new tracks. A new face is welcome in a race like this. (5) Left Leaning Lucy set the pace and finished second in her second try at this level for David Donk. (4) Extra Effort was claimed from her last start, which was a third in a $20,000 race at Keeneland. (1) Sky Kitten will move from turf to dirt, cutback in distance, and drop down in claiming price.

3rd race [Md Sp Wt, 1 mi] – (3) Amendment Nineteen (A) ran second in her debut for Linda Rice at Aqueduct on a muddy track. The winner of that race was an impressive Chad Brown runner. Rice’s horses typically make significant improvement in their second start. (6) Tekila (B) crossed the finish line in first but was dq’d and placed second. Three out of her 4 starts were on wet tracks. (5) School of Thought was third in her debut and only race last year at Saratoga for Chad Brown at odds of 2.70-1. She will get Lasix for the first time. (1) Strong Point tried the turf in her last start and now goes back to the dirt where last seen she was second ahead of a return winner.

4th race [Clm 16000 N2L, 1 mi] – (5) Millean was claimed from Todd Pletcher for $25,000 where he ran second and then moved up to the $40,000 level with blinkers on. Now, he drops down to a winning level and the blinkers come off. (2) Super Silver has been off for more than a year and makes the big drop from starter allowances to the N2L condition with past speed figures that tower over this field. (8) Bellamy Dolce ran third last time in an open $32,000 claimer and makes a significant drop in class. (1) Patty O’ Marc broke his maiden last time by more than eight lengths against NY-breds for $25,000 for Linda Rice.

6th race [Md 20000, 1 mi] – (4) Futuro debuted on the turf for Bill Mott and ran fourth behind a horse that came back to win on the grass. Mott puts his regular rider Junior Alvarado up and drops him down in price as he switches from turf to dirt. (3) Mo Heat made his first start last year as a 2-year-old at Saratoga on the turf in a maiden special weight. He returns as a new gelding on the dirt in his first start of this year for George Weaver who has good numbers with these type of moves. (1) Enroule makes his third start with first-time Lasix and goes back to the dirt while making a big drop in tag. (2) Tapit’s Flashback tried a maiden special weight last time but has a pair of seconds before that, one for a $40,000 tag and the other for $25,000 from which he was claimed.

Best bets:  Awesome Indra (1st); Amendment Nineteen (3rd). Best value: Millean (4th); Futuro (6th).
