Today’s Churchill Downs Hot List races to watch
Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020

By Bob Ehalt and Matt Shifman

Hot List Key:

A : A preferred horse to watch                   B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches in the final 3 minutes and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worse
* - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

3rd race – (4) Hidden Stash (C) took a ton of late money in dropping from 7-1 to 3-1 and responded with a decisive win. Seems well-spotted to make it two in a row. (7) Language Barrier (C) dipped from 9-1 to 6-1 and won easily in a cheap claimer. A nice work indicates he might be ready for this test. (6) Scarred looked good in a debut win and cannot be ignored. (1) All Bodes Well might sneak into the picture in the late stages. Betting strategy: 4 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-4-6-7.

6th race - (8) Private Network (B) had to tip out for running room when third in his debut and should work out a winning trip here. (4) Mountain King has enough speed to be a major threat here. (11) Scarlet Fusion is working better and may wake up here. (6) Leblon was an improved second last time and cannot be discounted. Betting strategy: 8 to win, place. Exacta box: 4-6-8-11. Doubles: 4-6-8-11 with 1-4-6-7.

7th race – (1) Good With Numbers (B) responded with a monster effort in a claimer and can handle these if he can duplicate that try. (6) Overdressed steps up seeking a third straight win and will be a main rival. (7) Train to Artemus won easily on a wet track, we’ll see how he does on a fast surface. (4) Charlie’s Penny ships in from Canada and has been working smartly on dirt. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-4-6-7.

9th race – (8) Simply Ravishing was only two lengths behind in fourth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies and seems much the best here. (4) Farsighted has been sprinting but is bred to handle two turns. (1) Lady Lilly should work out a good trip from the rail and will be a contender. (6) Clairiere was a promising debut winner who merits consideration. Betting strategy: 8 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-4-6-8.

11th race – (2) Swill can take advantage of a lack of speed by breaking from the rail and not looking back. (1) Sittin On Go can rebound from a weak effort in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile with another good showing over this track. (4) Keepmeinmind was third in the BC Juvenile as a maiden. If the pace is hot enough, he’ll be tough to handle. (5) Inspector Frost is the other starter with speed and can last for a share of the purse. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-4-5.
