1st race – (3) Winged Foot is a firster facing a weak field. If he has a modicum of talent he should triumph here. (2) Gus Gus should be competitive in this field. (8) Awesome Charge was second last time and should be competitive here. (7) Kenric is worth a look in this spot. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-7-8. Doubles: 2-3-7-8 with 2-3-5.

2nd race – (3) Edgee Angel (B) rallied quicky in the final furlong to miss by a half-length last time. She’s been no worse than third in her last four starts and is overdue for a win. (2) Bourbonwithginger has speed and could be tough to catch in a small field. (5) Super Cat Lady could spring a winning effort here.  Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-5.

5th race – (7) Cambiaso may appreciate the softer fractions around two turns and work out a winning effort. (10) Bread Winner could wake up at this level. (6) Big Beemster was fourth at this level and may take a step forward. (4) Grimes might benefit from a useful debut. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 4-6-7-10. Doubles: 4-6-7-10 with 1-2-4-7.

6th race – (1) Carbonite showed speed and held on for second. Will be dangerous off the Sharp claim. (4) Rum ‘n Tonic may welcome a class drop and surface switch. (7) American Icon could be a star in this spot. (2) Pledgeofallegiance is a big threat back in a claimer. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-4. Exactas: 1-4 over 2-7 and 2-7 over 1-4.

8th race – (3) Classic Moment was a distant second in his comeback race after a 6 ½-month break. Should be closer at the finish today. (5) Legionnaire returns to the main track and looks like the one to fear. (6) Ben Diesel missed by a neck in his first start for Lukas and should be in the picture once again. (1) Grantham will be a force here if there’s no rust from a layoff since March. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-5-6.
