1st race – (10) Shemakescents has speed and breaks from the outside so expect her to go to the lead. (11) Gypsy Lynn will drop down to this low maiden claiming level from a maiden special weight at Los Al and two $50,000 claimers where she hit the board. (5) Sweet Heidelberg will also be prominent in the early going and will drop down a notch. (3) Warren’s Show Bizz has been a consistent performer at this level. Betting strategy: 10 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-5-10-11.

2nd race – (2) Clem Labine was claimed for $40,000 by Peter Miller last month and now drops in for this $25,000 tag getting significant class relief. (5) Priano was claimed by Doug O’Neill for $20,000 after a front-end victory. He had been running against tougher competition. (3) Self Taught will be making a late run if the pace is hot while he drops back into the claiming ranks. (7) Italiano was claimed for $20,000 at Del Mar from a second-place finish by a hot trainer. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-5-7.

4th race – (4) Big Buzz was claimed for $16,000 from a victory at Del Mar last time. He was also a winner a few races back while racing for a tag. Between those wins he faced starter allowance horses. (5) Disc Jockey was a winner three starts ago when he ran in a claimer. (2) Peace of Ekati won a pair of $35,000 claimers at Gulfstream Park in the late winter. (6) Stay Golden was a front-end winner at Los Al last time and is projected to be on the lead in here. Betting strategy: 4 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-4-5-6.

7th race – (6) Home Cooking was third in her debut for Bob Baffert as an odds-on favorite. Blinkers come off for start two which Baffert wins at 30%. (3) Muteki was a $1 million purchase in April and will make her first start for Baffert. (10) Good as Gone is the other experienced horse in this field and she was sixth at 8-1 in her first start after setting the pace. (7) Electric Guide is a daughter of Arrogate making her debut for John Sadler. Betting strategy: Exacta: 6 with 3, 7, 10.

10th race – (10) Miss Mattie B checked early, then was rank while racing on the inside, and had to steady in the final turn. She broke her maiden at Del Mar last summer. (8) Rhea Moon hit the board in all four starts since coming to America. (5) Dendera was second at Del Mar following a six-month layoff for John Sadler. (2) Gem Mine drops out of a Grade 2 stake and gets class relief after facing tougher allowance competition also. Betting strategy: 10 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-5-8-10.
