1st race –  (2) Carnivore (B) had a tough trip when claimed by Diodoro out of a runner-up finish at Churchill Downs. Is working sharply and looks best here. (8) Breakfast Ride moves back to dirt and should be a main threat. (1) Rimprotector tries dirt and should be close from the rail. (9) Conundrum was second in his last two starts and cannot be ignored. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-8-9.

5th race – (6) Uncontrollable debuts for Repole/McCarthy and seems poised for a big effort. (8) Sarande has put in some bullets work for her debut and merits attention. (9) Smokin Cheena was second in her two starts and belongs in the exotics. (2) Rosie Ann Rules should be a factor in this field. Betting strategy: 6 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-6-8-9. Doubles: 2-6-8-9 with 7-8-9-10.

6th race – (7) Eddie’s New Dream was fifth in the Grade 1 Gamely and has a class edge here. (8) Freedom Flyer was third and second in her last two starts and should be the one to fear. (10) Tournesol has been freshened since missing by a nose and is worth a look. (9) Freedom Lass fits in nicely with this group. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 7-8-9-10.

8th race – (1) Mackinnon was a stakes winner over this turf course last year and seems well-prepped for his first start since February. (12) As Amatter of Fact seeks a third straight win and will be dangerous despite the post. (6) Castle Leoch comes off a nice win at Belmont and will be a stretch threat. (13) Heaven Street may be a factor on his best try. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-6-12-13. Doubles: 1-6-12-13 with 3-6-10-12.

9th race – (6) Recall and Reload won his debut for McCarthy now shifts back to Baffert and should be on edge for a top try. (10) Kid Corleone broke his maiden last time, but that was in November. If there’s no rust, he can make his presence felt. (12) Murray also hails from Baffert’s barn and should not be overlooked. (3) Patron d’Oro broke his maiden last time and will be a contender here. Betting strategy: 6 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-6-10-12.
