1st race – (6) Flat Out Joy had a troubled trip when shortened to 5 ½ furlongs. She should bounce back with a better effort at 7 furlongs. (1) Morning Addiction had a useful comeback race after a lengthy layoff and should be tough here. (4) Jamminjl comes off a Los Alamitos win and can be a threat here. (3) Civil Suit was fourth after an absence of more than a year and figures to benefit from that trip. Betting strategy: 6 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-6. Exactas: 1-6 over 3-4 and 3-4 over 1-6.

3rd race – (10) So Very Smart tired on turf and returns to dirt here. She had a troubled, wide trip his last time at this level and deserves a second chance here. (1) Supersonic Flyer has plenty of sped and will be tough to catch from the rail. (4) Babe’s Got Appeal is an interesting first-time starter. (3) Seven Sisters should be a contender in this group. Betting strategy: 10 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-4-10.

4th race – (5) Red Storm Risen ships in from the East Coast after three straight seconds and debuts for D’Amato. Looks best in this spot. (6) First Premio makes his first start after being claimed by Mullins and could be the main threat. (3) Onenightstandards exits a winning effort and deserves respect here. (1) Blameless should be effective in this spot. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-5-6.

6th race – (3) Cecile’s Chapter was second at Churchill Downs after wide trips in her last two starts for Maker. Runs for a slightly lower claiming price and should prove best. (9) American Bourbon has enough speed and a good enough jockey to overcome the outside post and may be hard to reel in. (4) Plum Sexy will welcome a return to turf. (6) Bold Article might wake up on turf. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-4-6-9. Doubles: 3-4-6-9 with 1-3-4-7.

7th race – (7) Ginja won easily at Los Al for Baffert and gets the nod to handle this field. (3) Lady Mystify  won by a pole last time, but that was in February. If she can duplicate that try, she will be formidable. (1) Lucky Peridot comes off a Los Al win and fared pretty well here last year. (4) Did I Stutter is new to the circuit and can make her presence felt. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-7. Exactas: 3-7 over 1-4 and 1-4 over 3-7.
