1st race – (1) Beautiful Temple was a good second at six furlongs and should relish the added distance. (8) Our Miss Millie returns to turf and may benefit from a rider switch. (9) Queen of Pompeii was second and third in her two career starts and belongs in the exotics. (3) Warrens Candy Girl didn’t fire after a  layoff but should be more fit this time. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-8-9. Doubles: 1-3-8-9 with 1-2-4-6.

2nd race – (1) Mucha Woman returns to the claiming ranks and looks best here. (4) Big Al’s Princess exits a win for Garcia, who is having a hot start to the meet. (2) V Bucks exits a starter race and should be more effective here. (6) Melting Snow has speed and could be tough to catch. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-4. Exactas: 1-4 over 2-6 and 2-6 over 1-4.

5th race – (2) Unusual Ride returns to the state-bred ranks and should prove best. (10) Lena’s Big Day should be aided by a stretchout to a mile. (9) Lake Flamingo makes her turf debut and could show improvement here. (4) Miss O’Brien was second in her turf debut, which stamps her as a threat here. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-4-9-10. Doubles: 2-4-9-10 with 1-2-4-6.

6th race – (1) The Chosen Vron comes off a pair of graded stakes wins and should dominate state-breds. (4) Atomic Drop was an impressive maiden winner and figures to be the main competition. (6) None Above the Law has late speed and could round out the exacta. (2) Found My Ball might appreciate the turf to dirt switch. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-4. Exactas: 1-4. Exactas: 1-4 over 2-6 and 2-6 over 1-4.

8th race – (1) Paint Me Lucky was second at Los Alamitos in his first try in a claimer. Should get the job done here. (2) Big Well returns to dirt which seems to be his best surface. (3) Sirocco should be a threat while facing claimers. (7) Poseidon Wrath can be a major factor against this bunch. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-3-7.
