1st race – (3) Vetoed (C) finished third at low odds in his debut. He should benefit from that start and handle this field. (10) Star Sailor has been away since April but is working sharpy for his comeback and should be a threat. (9) Sumo has put in some promising works and can take down this field. (2) Cali Bay might appreciate the added distance. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-9-10.

5th race – (3) Miss Bella Ciao was third at a longer distance but should thrive in this spot. (9) Basilia closed well for third last time and should be a top threat here. (6) Fi Fi Pharoah exits a nice maiden win and cannot be ignored. (5) Queen Goddess face winners for the first time and fits in nicely. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-5-6-9.

7th race – (4) Buzz of New York (B) made her U.S. debut last time and settled for second. Makes amends for that setback here. (5) Lookintogeteven disappointed last time but can rebound with a better effort today. (7) Rhythm and Grace has been second or third in three of her last four starts and his overdue for a win. (9) Floral Essence has never been worse than third and seems overdue for a maiden win. Betting strategy: 4 to win, place. Exacta box: 4-5-7-9.

9th race – (8) Going to Vegas is highly consistent and finds a spot where she should be tough to beat. (3) Dogtag was second in her last three starts and can complete the exacta again. (1) Maxim Rate will be a force in the final furlong. (2) Quiet Secretary can make some noise in this field. Betting strategy: 8 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-3-8. Doubles: 1-2-3-8 with 1-3-4-10.

10th race – (10) Corniche drew a rough post for his debut but should have enough early speed to overcome it. (1) Apprehend is another firster who should be right there at the finish. (4) Breakfast Ride seems on edge for a sharp debut. (3) Cover Me Up cannot be ignored in this spot. Betting strategy: 10 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-4-10.
