2nd race – (2) Picota makes his U.S. debut for Miller and appears to have found a soft spot. (3) Il Capitano was second last time and looks like the one to fear. (10) Classically is a stablemate of the top pick who could be a big factor here. (1) Lookout Point should be a threat in this field. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-3-10.

5th race – (7) Chris Fix had a troubled debut. He moves up in class here but if he improves at all off his debut, he should be right there at the finish. (8) Hay Juan showed sharp speed in debut and tired late. He might hang on here. (2) Mondale drops into a claimer and is worth a look. (4) Empire’s Fire might welcome the turf to dirt move. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-4-7-8. Doubles: 2-4-7-8 with 1-7-9-10.

6th race – (7) Deise Delight (B) had  a rough trip last time when second and can make amends in this spot. (1) Anonymously (C) dropped from 8-1 to 5-1 and finished a game second. Could improve off the Maker claim. (10) Nu Pi Lambda was no worse than third in her last four starts and belongs in the exotics. (9) Vegas Palm seeks a third straight win and cannot be ignored. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-7-9-10.

9th race – (5) Murray (A) was an impressive 10-length debut winner for Baffert and should be able to handle this field. (6) American Xperiment ships in from Saratoga and seems well-meant. (1) Pappacap won the Best Pal and can benefit from more distance and a ground-saving trip. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-5-6.

10th race – (9) Algeria was a sharp maiden winner last time and can close out the meet for Prat with another winner. (4) Muay Thai figures to be a stretch threat here. (6) Brother Reid had a useful comeback race after a lengthy layoff and should be more fit for this try. (2) Ox Bridge could be tough to catch in this field. Betting strategy: 9 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-4-6-9.
