1st race – (5) Zabava was a game second last time and seems ready for a winning effort here. (12) Enjoyitwhilewecan make his turf debut after missing by a head and is worth a look. (9) Temple City Terror hasn’t raced since a maiden win at Churchill Downs and he could be a threat here. (4) Niko’s Dream seems ready for a sharp try off a layoff.
2nd race - (5) Beau Luminaire exploded for a huge win in his third start and can handle these with a similar effort. (11) Top Seed was an impressive debut winner and might be the main threat. (6) Travelling Midas ran big off a layoff and should not be ignored here. (7) Be Gone Daddy should be a stretch threat.
3rd race – (5) Temple has been racing competitively in stakes and seems to have found a winning spot here. (3) Largent has never turned in a poor effort and is the one to fear. (6) Empire of War might work out a good trip here. (8) Unleveraged makes his first start since October and seems ready for a strong try.
4th race – (10) Decorated Invader had a rough trip in the Breeders’ Cup and only lost by a length and a half. Seems ready to start off his 3-year-old season on the right note. (6) Vitalogy turned in a great effort to win from post 11 and should be the main rival. (9) South Bend got rolling too late last time and might be closer here. (3) Get Smokin could be tough to catch in this spot.
5th race – (3) Network Effect disappointed in the Grade 1 Cigar Mile but fits much better here. (6) Squeezadios might wake up in this field. (9) Intrepid Heart makes his first start since July and has been working forwardly. (11) Almashriq was a sharp winner in his U.S. debut and can make his presence felt.
6th race – (3) You’re to Blame makes his first start since October for Pletcher, who usually has horses ready after a layoff. He deserves top billing here. (1) Harvey Wallbanger was an impressive winner and is a major threat here. (9) Realm belongs in the exotics. (6) American Tattoo will welcome a return to dirt.
7th race – (7) Walk In Marrakesh missed by a head last time in her first start in six months and should make amends for that setback here. (2) Onyx has a nice closing kick and should be a main factor here. (3) Stunning Sky didn’t fire last time but might perk up against this field. (5) Cheermeister should be the one to catch in the stretch.
8th race – (3) Last Judgment looked good in returning after a layoff and can make it two wins in a row here. (8) Vekoma makes his first start since the Kentucky Derby and should be dangerous in this spot. (7) Jackson is in great form and should be a factor at the finish. (10) He Hate Me will benefit from a quick pace.
9th race – (5) Newspaperofrecord had a disappointing 3-year-old campaign but is prepping nicely for her 2020 debut and merits top billing here. (2) Zofelle had a rough trip last time and can return to top form here. (3) Souper Escape is a threat on her best effort. (6) La Signare will be closing quickly in the final furlong.
10th race – (5) Gentle Ruler has a strong late kick and should prove best in the final furlong. (6) Mean Mary got away with slow fractions last time but should still be tough to catch in this race. (7) Cap de Creus should take a step forward with a clean trip. (12) Elizabeth Way is unbeaten in two U.S. starts and cannot be discounted.
11th race – (9) Tonalist’s Shape is unbeaten in five starts – four of them at Gulfstream Park – and can make it a six pack here. (8) Dream Marie has late speed and can complete the exacta. (5) Spice Is Nice split the top two picks last time and belongs in the trifecta here. (4) Lake Avenue can bounce back after a dull 3-year-old debut for Mott.
12th race – (9) Zulu Alpha has won two in a row at the meet, including the Pegasus Turf, and will be tough to beat in this spot. (1) Channel Cat seems better than the effort he turned in when 10th in the Pegasus Turf and deserves a second chance here. (2) Bemma’s Boy should be effective at this distance. (10) Focus Group merits consideration in his first try for Clement.
13th race – (10) Sombeyay has been much improved since returning for his 4-year-old season and will be tough to deny on his best try. (3) March to Arch just missed in a tight finish and will push the top pick. (1) English Bee has a nice turn of late speed and will benefit from saving ground. (7) Social Paranoia is working nicely for his 2020 debut.
14th race – (7) Tiz the Law had a great 3-year-old debut over the track and has put in some stellar works for this one. He’s the one to beat. (5) Gouverneur Morris has been pointed for the race and should be poised for a big effort. (6) Ajaaweed should like the added distance and will be gaining ground late. (9) Independence Hall suffered his first loss in his first test around two turns. Might be worth a second look here.
