Hot List Key:

A : A preferred horse to watch                   B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches in the final 3 minutes and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worse
* - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

4th race – (9) Peacock Kitten showed speed last time and weakened late. Drops a notch in claiming price and may not look back here. (5) The Mighty Judge has late speed and will be dangerous in the final furlong. (7) Cause for Pardon drops to a level where he should be effective. (3) Mystical Moon was a game second against similar foes and will be a factor. Betting strategy: 9 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-5-7-9. Doubles: 3-5-7-9 with 4-6-8-10.

5th race - (10) O Driscoll is an interesting first-time starter from Barboza who merits serious consideration. (8) Basquiat debuts for Chad and cannot be ignored. (4) Ashiham made a belated rally for fourth in his debut and should benefit from the added distance here in his first start for Pletcher. (6) Tons of Gold had some trouble last time and could work out a good trip here. Betting strategy: 10 to win, place. Exacta box: 4-6-8-10.

7th race - (8) Freedom Force is a son of American Pharoah who could move up on turf. (5) Shamrocket usually picks up a check and should be the main threat. (7) Viper might perk up on turf. (4) Venezuelan Hug may be closing quickly at the end. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 4-5-6-7. Doubles: 4-5-6-7 with 1-2-7-8.

8th race – (8) Legit returned from a two-year layoff and lost all chance when he was bumped at the start. Makes amends here. (2) Scars Are Cool switches to Seaz and may be the main threat. (7) Ice Tea may appreciate a return to the main track. (1) War Giant may be hard to reel in from the rail. Betting strategy: 8 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-7-8.

11th race – (2) Soldado (A) has won two in a row after a layoff and should make it a hat trick for Pletcher. (3) Hembree switches to the main track and will be flying at the end. (4) Spinoff looks ready for a big effort off the layoff. (5) Global Campaign also seems on edge for a solid try after a break. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place.  Exacta box: 2-3-4-5.
