2nd race – (3) Island Song (B) was carried seven wide on the turn and still managed to finish second. Works out a winning trip here. (7) El Pillo hasn’t raced since being claimed in September but could be ready for a good try here. (5) Queen’s Mason will be a threat at this level. (2) Chinomadito might bounce back in a claimer. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-5-7.

5th race – (7) Starship Voyager (C) dropped from 9-1 to 6-1 for his debut and then turned in a solid effort, battling for the lead and then settling for second. Gets top billing here. (5) Tara missed by a head in a claimer and fits well here. (10) Smooth as Glass is worth a try in her debut. (6) Jenna’s Gem should perk up back on dirt. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 5-6-7-10. Doubles: 5-6-7-10 with 1-4-7-11. Pick 3: 5-6-7-10 with 1-4-7-11 with 1-2-7-8.          

6th race – (7) Azrael (A) was a sharp winner of his turf debut and can make it two in a row here. (4) Rhythmia got off to a slow start from a bad post and was no factor. Should rebound here. (1) Wild Medagliad’oro has been away for 11 months but will be a threat if there’s no rust. (11) Ambassador Jim should be dangerous at this level. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-4-7-11. Doubles: 1-4-7-11 with 1-2-7-8. Pick 3: 1-4-7-11 with 1-2-7-8 with 3-4-6-8.

7th race – (8) Ain’t Wasting Time (C) was bet down from 3-1 to 2-1 and vied for the lead from the inside but tired in the final furlong. Should be formidable here. (2) K W Captain Hook will be a main threat in a claimer. (1) Beyond Gone will relish a return to dirt. (7) Travelin Gambler was a solid second last time ad cannot be ignored here. Betting strategy: 8 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-7-8. Doubles: 1-2-7-8 with 3-4-6-8.

8th race – (8) Feeling Funny (C) dropped from 2-1 to 7-5 and finished a determined second in her first start on turf. Takes a step forward in this spot. (3) Paris Lights is a firster who can make some noise here. (4) Erv’s Wench should be tougher at a shorter distance here. (6) Sneer was second in both dirt tries and should not be ignored. Betting strategy: 8 to win, place.  Exacta box: 3-4-6-8.
