By Bob Ehalt and Matt Shifman

Hot List Key:

A : A preferred horse to watch                   B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches in the final 3 minutes and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worse
* - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

1st race – (5) Monte Ne (D) dropped from 8-5 to 6-5 and had some trouble while finishing fourth. Was claimed by Maker so it’s not surprising he’s trying turf and he has a nice pedigree for it. (7) Vicmar could be ready for a solid effort in his debut. (3) Glacier Park might be helped by the turnback to a sprint. (8) Chamberlain could be a player back on turf.  Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-5-7-8.

4th race - (7) Think It Thru was a distant second in her debut but that effort gives her the edge here. (6) Pisces could be a threat in her career debut. (4) Khosea is progressing nicely and merits consideration against these. (5) Future Flay is also working nicely for her debut. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 4-5-6-7.

7th race – (5) Sunset Promise has a class edge and should prevail here in a claimer. (4) Wicked Mercury has been working sharply since breaking her maiden at Monmouth and will be a contender here. (2) Jimmyssmokedcarrot makes her first start for a new barn after a 10-month break and could be a major factor if ready. (6) Trish the Dish has enough late speed to wind up in the picture. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-4-5-6.

9th race – (5) Tarantino ships to Florida from Baffert’s barn in California and will be formidable here for Brisset. (3) Risk Manager showed promise in a debut win at Keeneland and should be the main rival. (7) Mister Leonardo beat claimers last time and could benefit from a quick pace. (2) Sir Roberto won his debut against good company at Kentucky Downs and merits respect here. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-5-7. Doubles: 2-3-5-7 with 1-5-6-9.

10th race – (5) Pay Any Price seems to be still going strong at 10, though the $25,000 claiming tag evokes question marks. He’s been absent for 5 months and looks best if ready. (6) Last Opportunity could be troublesome in the final furlong. (1) Quarky will be battling from the rail and could be a factor at the finish. (9) Kaufy Bean seeks a third straight win and should not be ignored. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-5-6-9.

No.
