2nd race – (6) Lunar Blast has finished no worse than third in six of her last seven starts and looks best in this spot. (4) Science was freshened after a weak effort but is training nicely for today’s race. (5) La Viexa didn’t show much off a lengthy layoff but should be tougher here. (7) Queen Street fits in well here.  Betting strategy: 6 to win, place. Exacta box: 4-6. Exactas: 4-6 over 5-7 and 5-7 over 4-6. Doubles: 4-5-6-7 with 1-4-8-9.

3rd race – (1) Ventriloquist switches back to turf and should benefit from a rail trip. (4) Pharaoh’s Jewel is a firster who is worth a look here. (8) Champagne Lady has been away but will be a threat on her best try. (9) Fast as Flight flopped last time but can rebound here. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-4-8-9.

5th race – (8) Queen Calypso has been running nicely on the synthetic surface here and should prevail. (11) Capturini is worth a look off a claim and landing in the D’Angelo barn. (12) For Ever Ours comes off a narrow maiden win and can be a contender. (5) She’s Classy was second last time and seems ready for another good showing. Betting strategy:  8 to win, place. Exacta box: 5-8-10-11.

7th race – (3) Liam has been away for more than a year and makes his debut for Pletcher. Seems ready for a top effort. (8) Nixon Joy takes the blinkers off and may wake up here. (7) Create Again won in front-running fashion and may not be caught here, either. (9) Fuego Caliente might perk up in a claimer. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-7-8-9.

9th race – (2) Castagno drops off a win over the surface and should prove best again. (3) Pointer can  wake up in a claimer. (1) American Ninja was second in his last two starts and belongs in the exotics. (6) Mr Matuschek exits a win and deserves attention off the Walder claim. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-3-6.
