1st race – (10) Cashier Check was a good second in a claimer then disappointed in a MSW test. A return to a claimer seems like a winning move. (8) Mr Mac Quhae takes a big class drop and should be a threat. (6) Tempestuous is an interesting first-time starter. (3) Dr Chrome should fit in well here. Betting strategy: 10 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-6-8-10.

5th race – (5) Tilted Towers ships in from California for Maker, who generally does well with turfers at this meet. Looks best in this spot. (4) Shekky Shebaz has a lot of back class and could be tough to catch. (7) Ghoul should be a threat in the final furlong. (8) Unprecedented won his last at Laurel and is worth a look. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 4-5-7-8. Doubles: 4-5-7-8 with 1-2-8-9.

6th race – (1) Gun Boat has speed and the rail and should be hard to catch in a stakes filled with maiden winners. (2) Sunstrike makes her U.S. debut and looks dangerous in this spot. (8) Lia Marina was a game winner last time and merits attention. (9) Sister Lou Ann has speed from the outside and can be a main factor. Betting strategy:  1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-8-9.

8th race – (3) Stunning Princess hasn’t raced since April at Keeneland but runs well when fresh and seems ready for a solid effort. (11) Tik Tok Famous has turned in some good showings in stakes but drew a rough post. (10) Yolanda’s Pride has a nice turn of speed and could be tough to catch. (2) Diamond Play should be a factor in the final furlong. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-10-11.

10th race – (5) Red Danger weakened late to finish fourth in a grade 2 stakes. Should appreciate a slightly shorter distance here. (12) Speaking Scout will welcome a return to turf but must overcome a tough post. (2) Eldon’s Prince won by six in his last turf race and cannot be ignored. (7) Duke of Love won on a synthetic surface and should like turf. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-5-7-12.
