By Bob Ehalt and Matt Shifman

Hot List Key:

A : A preferred horse to watch                   B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches in the final 3 minutes and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worse
* - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

1st race – (8) Frankie’s Girl debuts for Ward and has been working in a manner that indicates she has some speed and will be tough to catch. (7) Maiko gets Paco for this trip and might perk up. (6) Luisana Princess could be a threat on her best try. (3) Bahamian Rhapsody had a good debut and should improve against this bunch. Betting strategy: 8 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-6-7-8.

4th race - (3) High Speed Stef makes her first start for Joseph and based on a couple of bullet works she should live up to her name. (6) Vintage Style should make her presence felt in her debut. (1) Orbs Baby Girl will be a main player from the rail. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-6.

6th race – (3) Curtin’s Up returns to dirt where he won his two starts over the surface and he merits top billing. (10) Money Come will be part of the early pace and can last for a major share of the purse. (4) Slick Star has been second or third in his last six starts and belongs in the exotics. (9) R Boy  Evens fits in nicely with this group. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-4-9-10. Doubles: 3-4-9-10 with 4-5-10-12. Pick 3: 3-4-9-10 with 4-5-10-12 with 2-3-5-6.

7th race – (5) National Honor won despite a six-wide trip at Parx in September. Recent works indicates he’s capable of a similar effort here. (12) Rocket Joe Copper may be the class of the race but has a difficult post. (4) Zap Daddy drops in class and should be a threat here. (10) Derby Champagne returns to a level where he notched his last victory. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 4-5-10-12. Doubles: 4-5-10-12 with 2-3-5-6.

8th race – (5) Answer In (A) comes off a rough trip in his first start in seven months. He was steadied early and hard held then had to rally eight wide while taking fourth. Should rebound with a win in this spot. (6) Roman Empire has been on a 6-month hiatus but seems set for a nice try here. (3) War Stopper was stakes material for Pletcher in March. Hasn’t raced since then but will be a force if ready. (2) Glory of Florida was a game second at this level and merits a look. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 5-6. Exactas: 5-6 over 2-3 and 2-3 over 5-6.
