1st race – (1) Valhalla Air Base takes a big class drop and should prove best in this field. (2) Red Mule has been away since September but should be competitive at this level. (7) High Press exits a maiden win and can be a factor here. (4) Tiz Romantic closed nicely for second and deserves a close look. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2. Exactas: 1-2 over 4-7 and 4-7 over 1-2.

3rd race – (2) Lido Key (A) posted a nice win in her first try on Tapeta and can make it two in a row here. (6) Noble Intentions might appreciate the added distance here. (5) On a Tour returns to a claimer and should be a main threat. (1) Caribbean Kitten could be tough to catch from the rail. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-6. Exactas: 2-6 over 1-5 and 1-5 over 2-6. Doubles: 1-2-5-6 with 2-6-7-8.

4th race – (2) Noble Indy returns to turf and should turn in an improved effort. (7) Palatial Times gets Saez and might wake up against this field. (6) Stirling Drive also returns to turf and figures to turn in a sharp try off the claim. (8) Peace of Ekati has some speed and could be tough to catch here. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-6-7-8.

7th race – (8) Federalist Papers rallied for third at Aqueduct and seems well-spotted for a win here. (6) Champagne Ivy was second at this distance and looks like the one to fear. (7) Song of Innocence flopped last time but can rebound here. (1) Kate’s Kingdom may benefit from a ground-saving trip in this marathon test. Betting strategy: 8 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-6-7-8.

9th race – (4) Cadencia has been away since May but Pletcher seems to have her on edge for a strong comeback race. (1) Fast as Flight was second or third in four of five career starts and should be the main rival. (6) Sitting Pretty adds blinkers and has enough speed to be a major threat. (9) Mozay was second at Aqueduct and fits in nicely here. Betting strategy: 4 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-4-6-9.
