1st race – (5) Pharoah’s Gold was claimed by Maker last time as a beaten favorite and drops to a level where she should prove best. (6) Pugin was claimed out of a maiden win and looks like the one to fear. (3) Greenwood Drive might welcome a switch to turf. (1) My Maxamillion should be quite competitive dropping down to this level. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-5-6.

2nd race – (4) Macho Real switches to Baxter’s barn and seems well-spotted in a field he can handle. (1) Mutaraafeq drops into a claimer for Pletcher and should perk up off a dull debut on turf. (2) Ultimate Gift also moves from turf to dirt for Pletcher and merits respect. (7) Brett’s World exits a stakes race and fits much better here. Betting strategy: 4 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-4. Exactas: 1-4 over 2-7 and 2-7 over 1-4.

4th race – (2) Spungie (A) missed by a nose in a sharp effort and should atone for that loss today. (6) Red Light Racer missed by a neck at Tampa Bay Downs and can pose plenty of trouble for the top pick. (4) Katama Moonlight has a nice amount of early speed and might be tough to catch. (3) Talking Book has not raced since April but will be a major threat if there’s no rust. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-4-6.

6th race – (6) Leinster was only beaten by a length in the Breeders’ Cup and should start off 2021 on a winning note. (7) Inter Miami might wake up while switching from dirt to turf. (3) Harry’s Ontheloose gets a positive jockey switch and merits respect. (2) High Crime should thrive with a return to turf. Betting strategy: 6 to win, place. Exacta box: 6-7. Exactas: 6-7 over 2-3 and 2-3 over 6-7.

11th race – (5) Mischevious Alex (C) dropped from 6-5 to 4-5 and won easily after five months off. Can make it two in a row here. (7) Frosted Grace should be charging late and looks like the one to fear. (6) Winds of Change has sharp early speed and may be able to wire this field. (4) Cajun Brother won a Sunshine stakes in fast time and should not be ignored.  Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 5-7. Exactas: 5-7 over 4-6 and 4-6 over 5-7.
