1st race – (1) Lord Theo makes his career debut for Maker and finds a weak field he should be able to boss. (8) Bastien Le Brown gives turf a try and may like it. (10) Converter was second last time on dirt and makes his turf debut. (7) Optimistic Valor can sneak into the picture at the end. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-7-8-10. Doubles: 1-7-8-10 with 1-4-5.

2nd race – (1) Foster Hope lacked a late kick against better competition but should fire in this spot. (5) Berhanu steps up off a maiden win and will be a threat here. (4) Jr Speed could be tough to catch in a small field. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-4-5.

5th race – (5) Break Beat takes a big class drop and should prove best against these. (4) Call Bros flopped in his first try against winners but could bounce back here. (7) Shining Through should be a main threat in the stretch. (1) Dreamin of Seville seems nicely positioned on the rail for a strong showing. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-4-5-7.

7th race – (4) What’s the Move rallied nicely to break her maiden and can make it two a row here. (6) Trish the Dish was hurt by a wide trip and deserves another look here. (1) Cooper broke through with a maiden win last time and can make it two in a row here. (5) Kitten’s Finest should be closing quickly at the end. Betting strategy: 4 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-4-5-6.

9th race – (5) Song River (B) was a game second despite being bumped at the start. Should atone for that loss today. (8) Daddy’s Joy missed by a neck last time and should be the main competition. (3) La Cara Bonita has enough speed to be a major threat. (6) True Heiress gets Lanerie and should figure in the exotics. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-5-6-8.
