4th race – (2) First Hour (A) was an improved second in her second career start and should graduate today. (8) Never At All was hurt by a slow start in her debut and will be tougher here. (3) Candy Jar closed fast for second and will be a major threat. (7) Zia’s Song may appreciate the turnback to five furlongs.  Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-7-8.

6th race - (5) Avenue (B) was second throughout in his debut and seems poised for a maiden win. (2) Spotters Hill debuts for Mott and may prove to be the main threat. (6) Southern District appears to be working toward a big effort in his debut. (10) Cellist had a troubled trip in his debut and deserves a second chance. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-5-6-10.

8th race – (2) Alexander Valley (B) was a wide second last time and continued improvement will propel him into the winner’s circle. (10) Aviano missed by a neck last time but has a tough post to overcome. (8) Potus could be a big threat in his debut for Shug. (7) My Sea Cottage rallied for third at five furlongs and will appreciate the added distance. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-7-8-10.

10th race – (6) Ghostly Beauty missed by a neck at this level last time and can make amends for that setback here. (7) Smack drops in class and should perk up back on turf. (2) Freddymo Factor nosed out the top pick for second last time and figures to make her presence felt here. (8) I’ll Do It My Way may wake up off the class drop. Betting strategy: 6 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-6-7-8.

12th race – (6) Zaffing had a troubled trip in her debut and should be able to handle claimers here. (3) Princess Empire seems ready for a solid effort in her debut. (8) Dreaming of Audrey returns to a claimer and should be a force against this field. (1) Foxtrot Seville was forced to rally wide last time and will benefit from a rail trip. Betting strategy: 6 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-6-8.
