By Bob Ehalt and Matt Shifman

Hot List Key:

A : A preferred horse to watch                   B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches in the final 3 minutes and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worse
* - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

3rd race – (3) Code Name Lise was an easy winner in her first try over Tapeta and can make it two in a row here. (4) Lucky Latkes might appreciate a switch to a synthetic surface. (7) Indian Pilaga can take a step forward in her second start after a lengthy layoff. (5) Khozzy Valintine raced well on a synthetic surface at Woodbine and should be a factor here. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-4. Exactas: 3-4 over 5-7 and 5-7 over 3-4. Doubles: 3-4-5-7 with 2-3-5-7.

4th race – (3) Surreal Fantasy won by a pole at Tampa Bay and can handle these with a similar try. (7) Mi Negrita disappointed in her first try against winners but can rebound here. (5) Jumeirah missed by a neck last time and figures to be a main threat. (2) Kathleen O. closed fast to win her debut and should not be ignored. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-7. Exactas: 3-7 over 2-5 and 2-5 over 3-7.

6th race – (8) Emicrack (D) dropped from 4-1 to a 2-1 favorite then tired and finished fourth while chasing the pace from post 10. Should prefer the 5-furlong distance. (7) Lucky as a Seven switches to Jaramillo and may wake up here. (1) Navy Pier has speed and the rail and may be hard to catch. (3) War Feather will be a threat on his best try. Betting strategy: 8 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-7-8.

9th race – (4) Biz Biz Buzz (C) dropped from 16-1 to 10-1 then set the pace in a turf stakes before faltering and finishing third. Might benefit from a slower pace in a slightly longer race. (5) Chanceux was a sharp winner in his turf debut and should be the main rival. (6) No Nay Franklin is a maiden but missed by a neck in his lone turf race and merits consideration. (8) Grand Sonata rallied belatedly last time and deserves a look here. Betting strategy: 4 to win, place. Exacta box: 4-5-6-8. Doubles: 4-5-6-8 with 3-5-6.

10th race – (3) Simplification was third after a huge win. Figuring he probably bounced off that win, he should rebound here and pull out a victory. (6) Graphic Detail comes off a promising maiden win and should be the one to fear. (5) Skippylongstocking fits in nicely here and cannot be overlooked. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-5-6.
