1st race – (5) Cuy (B) returned to turf and had a rough trip as he was bumped at the start and had to rally wide while finishing second. Makes amends for that loss here. (1) Accessible takes a big class drop and will be a main threat from the rail. (7) Big Perm has late speed and will be a factor in the stretch. (3) Jealous Eyes should appreciate a little more distance here. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-5-7.

5th race - (7) Now a Jaguar drops into a claimer for the first time and could prove best in this spot. (4) Houdini’s Awesome steps up and adds Lasix after finishing second. Could be a top contender here. (2) Password Protected is a firster from Chad who seems set for a solid effort. (9) Millean looked good last time on turf but is a question mark on dirt. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-4-7-9.

7th race – (1) First Hour has been working nicely for her debut and gets the nod in this spot. (13) Spill the Tea had a tough trip last time and will be formidable if she draws into the race. (12) Simply the Best  hails from a barn winning at a huge clip and cannot be ignored. (8) Speeding should welcome a return to turf. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-8-12-13.

10th race – (1) Mischevious Alex debuts for Joseph after a freshening and figures to be a top-notch sprinter this year. (8) Shirl’s Speight makes his dirt debut and has the kind of talent that merits attention. (6) Epic Dreamer might rebound with a return to dirt. (9) Yodel E.A. Who has enough speed to be a key contender here. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-6-8-9. Doubles: 1-6-8-9 with 1-5-6-8.

11th race – (5) Never Content adds blinkers and Lasix and should be due for a better showing today. (6) Jouster ran well on dirt but seems well-bred for turf. (8) Italian Twin gets to run on turf here and should relish it. (1) Champagne Ivy may blossom back on turf. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-5-6-8.
