1st race – (3) Frolic Man ships in from Tampa and finds a group that he should be able to handle. (8) Pemberton switches to Saez and should be a threat. (7) Powerful Guy takes a big class drop and should be competitive here. (2) Gogess seems well-placed here. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-7-8. Doubles: 2-3-7-8 with 1-2-3.

2nd race – (1) Venezuela First didn’t fire in the slop and may wake up on a dry track. (2) Rayo Colorado returns to the main track and should turn in a better effort. (3) Birdman Richie will be a force against claimers. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-3.

6th race – (5) Vexednrelaxed comes off a maiden win at Aqueduct and can make it two in a row. (2) Sandpiper Memories also won his last start and cannot be overlooked. (1) Dattsafancyfox may relish the Tapeta surface. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-5.

8th race – (5) Capturini (A) rallied nicely to win his last start and should be able to prevail again. (7) Daddy’s Joy returns to the Tapeta course and might be a main contender. (1) Fast Venezuela returns from a long layoff and is worth a look. (2) Red Wind may blow past them in the stretch. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-5-7.

10th race – (3) Alley Oop Johnny debuts off the Maker claim and may be ready for an improved effort. (1) Hail to the Chief should be closing fast in the final furlong and looms the main rival. (5) Stirling Drive makes his first start for Gargan and should make his presence felt. (6) Over the Channel may be ready for a good showing after a freshening. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-5-6.
