1st race – (5) American Matters (B) had a rough trip in his career debut and was still a respectable fourth, only beaten by a little more than two lengths. Should prevail with a smooth trip here. (3) Ruby My Belly had a useful debut and could move forward here. (2) Unlonely is worth a look in his turf debut. (6) Royal Biz should be a factor against this bunch. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-5-6.

4^th race – (2) Alado (A) had a bumpy start and then flew home in the final furlong to finish second. Makes amends for that setback here. (6) Ladies’ Choice is an interesting firster in this spot. (5) Loyal Louie tries claimers and may be a threat. (1) Todaystheday steps up off a pair of seconds and should not be overlooked. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-5-6. Doubles: 1-2-5-6 with 1-3-7-9.

5th race – (1) Sengekontacket makes her debut off the Gargan claim and deserves top billing here. (7) Pat Pat Pat debuts for Pletcher off a long layoff and is worth a look. (9) Cat Lady set the pace and finished a game second. Seems to fit in well here. (3) Baseline Drive drops to an all-time low claiming price and should be a factor. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-7-9.

7th race – (6) Free to Fly was a distant second last time and should welcome a cutback to a sprint. (1) Lavi steps up off a pair of wins and looks like the main rival. (4) Ima Daredevil has won three of her last five starts and should be a top contender here. (9) Midtown Rose might work out a good trip from the rail. Betting strategy: 6 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-4-6-9.

9th race – (7) Kasim exits a maiden win for Maker and can make it two in a row here. (5) Zamfir was a game second last time and should be the main rival. (2) Worlds On High will be dangerous if he makes a smooth transition to turf. (3) Thinkaboutit should appreciate the turnback to a sprint. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-5-7.
