1st race – (12) Generic Joe was second in his career debut for Ward and should graduate today. (4) Alado takes a drastic drop in his first start for Sano and should be dangerous at this level while trying turf. (5) American Matters  is working nicely for his debut and can be a contender here. (6) Under the Couvers will be tough to catch in this spot while dropping in class. Betting strategy: 12 to win, place. Exacta box: 4-5-6-12.

3rd race - (4) Southern Passage (C) was bet down from 9-2 to 7-2 and rolled to a maiden win. He adds Lasix for this start and seems to have found a good spot against winners. (3) Seazan has been racing in stakes and gets some class relief here for a jockey/trainer combo that works well together. (5) Hygh I.Q. has never been worse than third and adds blinkers here. Betting strategy: 4 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-4-5. Doubles: 3-4-5  with 4-5-6-7.

4th race – (5) Deemed Essential was second in both career starts for Pletcher and seems ready to graduate today. (7) Tabor Hall has been no better than fourth or fifth in four career starts but should wake up with the switch to Irad. (6) Len Lo Lady might improve in this spot. (4) Curlin’s Catch seems to have the breeding to handle a switch to dirt. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 4-5-6-7.

6th race – (2) Search Results has put in some useful works for Chad and may provide the winning answer here. (8) Baffle ‘Em also seems primed for a big effort in her debut. (6) Sheza Happy Girl has been knocking on the door with second and third place finishes and should not be ignored. (5) Mine for Passion could benefit from a useful debut at Churchill Downs and take a step forward here. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-5-6-8.

9th race – (1) Myamanoi takes a suspicious drop for a red-hot barn but should prove best from the rail if all is well. (11) Max’s Causeway was claimed by Maker out of a second-place finish but has a tough post to overcome. (9) Shining Through had some trouble in his last two starts but should thrive here with a smooth trip. (5) Mr. Who has some early speed and might get brave with Jose Ortiz aboard. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-5-9-11.
