By Bob Ehalt and Matt Shifman

Hot List Key:

A : A preferred horse to watch                   B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches in the final 3 minutes and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worse
* - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

3rd race – (6) No Decaf (A) was a clear second after setting the pace last time. Cutting back to six furlongs should put her in the winner’s circle. (3) Skyfly was well behind Decaf when third last time and seems like the main rival. (1) Frankly My Dear has been second or third in five of six starts and belongs in the exotics.  Betting strategy: 6 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-6. Doubles: 1-3-6 with 1-2-4-6.

4th race - (1) Mademoiselle Nova missed by a neck in her debut and should make amends here. (4) First Hour rallied belatedly in her debut and should benefit from that start. (2) Reinagol was second in both of her starts and figures to be a main factor. (6) Never At All seems ready for a big effort in her debut.  Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-4. Exactas: 1-4  over 2-6 and 2-6 over 1-2.

6th race – (3) Aviano rallied for third as the favorite at Tampa Bay but should move forward here and deserves top billing. (5) Future Victory didn’t fire in his debut, though he can perk up here. (6) Fingal was balky at the start and one-paced throughout. The third start could be the charm for him. (4) Crew  Dragon was third in all three starts and cannot be ignored. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-4-5-6.

9th race – (3) Answer In (C) was bet down from 8-5 to 6-5 then battled for the early lead but tired in the stretch and dropped back to third. Has worked sharply since then and seems set for a better try today. (9) Ajaaweed showed promise early last year before heading to the sidelines. Is training promisingly for his first start in nearly a year and figures to be dangerous in this spot. (5) Scar was a game winner last time and seems ready to tackle better company. (2) Sounion disappointed in his first local try but can rebound here. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-5-9. Doubles: 2-3-5-9 with 1-3-4-8.

10th race – (8) War Stopper beat Answer In last time and is well spotted for back-to-back wins. (3) Telephone Talker returns to the main track and if he duplicates his last try on dirt he’ll make some noise here. (1) Famished might perk up with a ground-saving rail trip. (4) Red Crescent ws victorious in his last start at this level and should be a major threat once again. Betting strategy: 8 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-4-8.
