1st race – (7) Simply the Best (C) dropped from 8-5 to 6-5 and was third for a third straight time. She seems overdue for a winning effort. (6) Lime was second against claimers and should be the main threat.  (1) Ladies’ Choice should work out a good trip from the rail. (4) Baby Mo might improve on turf. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 6-7. Exactas: 6-7 over 1-4 and 1-4 over 6-7.

4th race – (2) Malibu Max won his last start and drops off the Joseph claim. Looks best against this field. (6) Shoshone Brave switches to O’Connell’s barn and should be a contender. (5) Puttheglassdown moves up after a claim and is worth a look. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-5-6. Doubles: 2-5-6 with 3-5-7-9. Pick 3: 2-5-6 with 3-5-7-9 with 2-3-5-6.

5th race – (7) Absam gets back on turf and should notch a winning effort here. (9) Voodoo Zip has never been worse than third in six career starts and should provide the most competition. (5) Derby Date may welcome a switch to turf. (3) Small Talk was second in a claimer and can be a threat in this field. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-5-7-9. Doubles: 3-5-7-9 with 2-3-5-6.

6th race – (3) Reservenotattained (A) chases a fourth straight win and should not be denied here. (6) Well Defined looks like the one to catch in the stretch. (2) Joe Di Baggio didn’t care for a wet track but can bounce back here. (5) Create Again is in great form and merits attention. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-6. Exactas: 3-6 over 2-5 and 2-5 over 3-6.

8th race – (5) Well Done West displayed big improvement in his first start for Gargan and can make it two wins in a row today. (6) Septemberten switches to Irad and deserves consideration. (8) Mustang Cat has enough speed to be a main threat from the outside post. (2) Tonalism seems primed for a big effort with a little more distance. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-5-6-8.
