5th race – (2) Wentru ships in from Fair Grounds seeking a third straight win and should be able to prevail. (3) Honorable was third in a similar test and should be helped by a shorter distance. (4) Girl Dad tired last time but could hang on against this field. (1) Zippy Baby didn’t fire last time but can bounce back here. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-3-4.

7th race - (4) Wink has not raced since Ward sent her to France and she ran second in a Group 3 stakes. That was her lone loss in three starts and she seems primed for a strong 3-year-old debut here. (2) Fouzia has plenty of speed and should be the main threat. (5) Sleek Lynx has been working sharply and cannot be ignored. (7) Lionessofbrittany will welcome a return to a sprint distance. Betting strategy: 4 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-4-5-7. Doubles: 2-4-5-7 with 1-3-4-7.

8th race – (4) Tallis (D) was bet down from 8-5 to 6-5 but tired in the stretch on a sloppy track. Can make amends on a dry surface. (1) Group Hug switches back to the main track and deserves a long look. (3) Everesting weakened on turf but may be better suited by dirt. (7) Taita cuts back to a sprint after racing around two turns and could work out a nice trip. Betting strategy: 4 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-4-7.

10th race – (8) Slam Dunk returned from a 7-month layoff with a sharp, winning effort. Has worked quickly since then and gets the nod in a tough race. (4) Pacific Gale was a surprising winner last time in a Grade 2 stakes, but will be well-backed here as a main threat. (7) Sound Machine put in a quick work for this and could be ready for a sharp effort. (2) Royal Meghan chases a third straight win and can make her presence felt at the finish. Betting strategy: 8 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-4-7-8. Doubles: 2-4-7-8 with 1-4-6-7.

11th race – (1) Carimba is undefeated in two starts for Ward and will be tough to reel in from the rail. (4) Kasim figures to benefit from a fast pace and will be a threat in the final furlong. (6) Nitro Time also has speed and should be a factor throughout. (7) No Que No had a troubled trip when third last time out and cannot be ignored. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-4-6-7.
