Jockey, Trainer Races Tight Entering Closing Day

Leading rider Tyler Gaffalione added two victories Friday afternoon to hike his meet-leading total to 19 wins entering the final day of the 17-day Fall Meet. His closest pursuer, Luis Saez, picked up a one victory Friday for his 18^th win of the meet.

Gaffalione, who is seeking his sixth Keeneland riding title, has eight mounts today. Saez, seeking his second title, has 10 mounts.

Wesley Ward saddled the winner of Friday’s 10^th race to move into a tie with Todd Pletcher for leading trainer honors with 10 victories each. Brad Cox saddled two winners Friday to give him nine for the meet.

Pletcher, seeking his sixth Keeneland training title, has a runner in one race today as does Ward, who is chasing his ninth title here. Cox, a three-time leading trainer, has runners in five races this afternoon.
