1st race – (1) Starstriker debuts for Ward and seems poised to add to his long list of 2-year-old winners. (6) Julia’s Chardonnay sets ready for a good effort. (2) Gila also hails from Ward’s barn and merits respect. (7) One Stormy Lady could sneak into the picture. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-6-7.

3rd race – (12) Falconet (A) missed by a head in her debut and can graduate here. (8) Distinctlypossible was second in a Grade 1 stakes last year and looks like the main rival. (6) Quality was second in both career starts and should be a main contender. (2) Take a Stand has been no worse than third in her last four starts and can make her presence felt. Betting strategy: 12 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-6-8-12.

6th race – (4) Bombdiggity was an impressive maiden winner at Fair Grounds and can make it two in a row here. (5) Arrobatic looked good winning her debut at Gulfstream Park and should be the one to fear. (11) Sweet as Pie has been racing in stakes company and could be a main factor. (12) Veterans Highway will be a threat if she can overcome the outside post. Betting strategy: 4 to win, place. Exacta box: 4-5-11-12. Doubles: 4-5-11-12 with 1-2-5-7. Pick 3: 4-5-11-12 with 1-2-5-7 with 1-2-4-7.

7th race – (7) Twilight Gleaming won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint and will be very tough to handle here. (2) Slipstream makes his 3-year-old debut after running into trouble in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf. Should be a stretch threat. (1) Classicstateofmind will benefit from a rail trip. (5) Kaufymaker was second behind the top pick in the Breeders’ Cup and cannot be ignored. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-7. Exactas: 2-7 over 1-5 and 1-5 over 2-7. Doubles: 1-2-5-7 with 1-2-4-7.

8th race – The Grade 3 Beaumont Presented by Keeneland Select - (7) Matareya won easily at Fair Grounds and should prove best here. (4) Gina Romantica won her debut at Tampa and could be formidable in this field. (1) Lady Secret seeks a third straight win and will be helped by a ground-saving trip. (2) Radio Days could make some noise here. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 4-7. Exactas: 4-7 over 1-2 and 1-2 over 4-7.
